Robert C. Sharpe

Robert C. Sharpe is Vice President and Portfolio Manager of the Heartland International Value Fund.

He has more than 30 years of value investing experience and began at Heartland Advisors in 2013.

Heartland Advisors Portfolio Manager Robert Sharpe manages the Heartland International Value Fund. He is a seasoned investment management professional. Before joining the Firm, Sharpe was International Equities Portfolio Manager at the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, where he managed a $2 billion value portfolio. He also led the International Equities Department as Director, overseeing an $8.3 billion internal allocation.

In addition to his international equities experience, he held investment management and analyst positions in value-focused domestic equities during his nearly 20 years at the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio.

Sharpe began his investment career as a Research Analyst at Capital Research Company, the research investment advisor to American Funds. Previously, he was an Economist at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

He graduated from Williams College with a bachelor’s in economics in 1983.
